Maintaining A Harmonious Working Environment
A harmonious working environment is one in which people feel safe, seen, heard, and respected. Critical to maintaining it are that employees have high self-esteem, are treated with respect, and work in a safe, non-violent setting. This course provides practical knowledge and scripts on how to take appropriate action and deal effectively with discriminatory comments, sexual harassment, and threats and acts of violence, such that personal and employer liability is avoided.

Learning Objectives
- Identify behaviors and workplace conduct that may give rise to hostile work environment claims, and apply proactive communication and policy enforcement strategies to prevent discriminatory comments from escalating into legal exposure.
- Explain appropriate response protocols for actual or potential sexual harassment situations, including reporting obligations, investigation best practices, and steps leaders can take to reduce organizational and personal liability.
- Recognize warning signs of potential workplace violence and describe appropriate response strategies, including threat assessment principles and effective tactics to minimize injury and loss of life during active violence situations.
